National Women's Day

The Women’s Month Program at Hazel Grove was a heartfelt celebration honoring the incredible women in our community who demonstrate excellence culturally, politically, and professionally.

We were privileged to welcome an outstanding panel of guest speakers: Broadway singer and actress Angela Wildflower Polk; KCKPS District leader Dr. Jacqueline Rodriguez; and Jackson County District Prosecutor Melessa Johnson. Each speaker shared powerful words of inspiration, leadership, and perseverance with our students.

During the program, we proudly presented our Assistant Principal, Chantel Edwards, with the H.E.R.O. Award. H.E.R.O. stands for Honesty, Empathy, Responsibility, and On-Task — and she exemplifies each of these qualities every day.

We also honored a beloved school family’s great-grandmother who has raised three generations of Hazel Grove Hornets, with her youngest great-granddaughter currently in the 5th grade. Her legacy of dedication and support truly represents the heart of our school community.

To conclude the celebration, students brought history to life through a Wax Museum, portraying powerful women from both the past and present. It was an inspiring and empowering event for all who attended!
